Notes
Last minute apres-ski idea, so I didn't do much advance research. Was able to make it up the uphill route on the East Zone of the Maple Villa Glade, which is mostly an old woods road up to near 2,200 feet in elevation. Above there, I occasionally had a vague herd path, eventually hitting ledges and a more prominent path to the summit. Views were about as good as I remembered from my last visit years to go. Neat to see white Presidentials and Black Mountain ski area. I favored more due west on the descent and had to downclimb some ledge scrambles. I think the old ski trail was a bit further south than I was, but I think I eventually picked it up near the Pine Hill col. Woods were generally good for bushwhacking, particularly once down in the ski glades. Looks like an amazing ski complex. Never encountered any snow or ice. Did see a few early season wildflowers. Beautiful spring day with sunny skies, a breeze, and temperatures in the 50s.
Parking
Room for 2 vehicles at the Maple Villa parking entrance in the summer (parking lot is only open during ski season, so only two vehicles are permitted in the off-season).
