Trails Used

Long Trail, Monroe Trail, Alpine Trail, Dean Trail

Trail Conditions

Wet TrailWet/Slippery RockMud - Significant

Notes

Soggy day to be out. Trail was boggy with loads of standing water, but there are a decent amount of stepping stones/roots through the puddles. No monorail left anywhere. Bugs were pretty minimal. Couple small blow downs but nothing major. We popped up to the top of Camel's hump and then got blown backwards off the summit so took the bad weather bypass instead. Plane wings are cool to see, right on the side of the trail. Montclair Glen Lodge is small but cozy.

Water Crossings

No major crossings, lots of little puddles and tiny streams

Wildlife

minimal

Trails Used

Burrows Trail, Long Trail

Trail Conditions

Ice - BlueSnow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular

Equipment

SnowshoesMicrospikes

Notes

Overall good conditions, a bit breezy up top but very nice in the woods! There are a few inches of powder over top of ice from last weeks freeze thaw, microspikes and poles were enough for us although the snow was snowballing on our spikes like crazy and we kept having to kick it off. The last .3 miles or so have a bad monorail (at times only wide enough for one boot) so we were glad to not pass other ppl going the opposite way on that bad section! No view from the cloudy summit but great hike regardless

Water Crossings

Streams are running but all hoppable
