Notes
From parking spot, we walked to the end of the road (which is driveable if you got that far already) then up into the woods. Good woods with a couple old skidder paths and some horizontal ATV/sno mo roads. A pretty unremarkable whack. No jar at the summit though there was a beer can nailed to a tree that gave me home momentarily. We descended more southerly aiming straight for the parking spot, hitting a good old road for awhile. Got wet close to the road.
Parking
This is mostly a driving report. We drove the spur road to the east of the peak off of Cedar Brook Rd in an AWD Rav4. There was recent logging activity, which meant a ton of bark debris in the road at a few spots. Road was OK until the 90 degree turn north where it becomes really overgrown - both the center line and leaning branches from the sides so my car was plowing branches - would not recommend attempting this stretch. We ended up parking at the landing where the road turns NW as I didn't want to press my luck any further. If I were doing this again, I'd park at the 90 degree turn in the spur road and beeline straight for the summit (there's a junction and room to park a car), since driving the last bit of it was bad and didn't really help much with the hike.
