Trails Used

Blue Summit Trail

Trail Conditions

Dry Trail

Equipment

Microspikes

Notes

Temperature in the 40s, clouds gave way to sunshine by noon. Monorail started at around 2800 ft (~0.2 miles past the bench) . A handful of icy spots (manageable) toward the top. If you forgot your micro-spikes, you could make it to the top, but your life is much easier with them on...especially on the descent. A fair amount of leaves, but luckily they were dry today. Nice day hike that gets your heart rate going. 7 miles RT from the lower parking lot. 5 hours including breaks if you're in reasonably good shape.

Parking

Parking lot full at 10 am. There's another parking lot just uphill of the golf club.

Trails Used

Blue summit trail

Trail Conditions

Dry TrailIce - BlueSnow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular

Equipment

Microspikes

Notes

Trails were busy but only the lower area ones as I was the only one from the tracks on top that reached the peak. Trail is wide to start with and easy to keep track of. Once at about 2400' it was time to put on my micro spikes at the bench as the trail was turn to snow and ice, it started narrow then it all turned to snow but hard frozen snow due to the cold. On top made my way to the building and walked around it since it was closed but could hear an alarm coming from the inside.

Parking

Parked in the lot at the end of west union street and was about 3/4 full at the start and finish
