Dry TrailMud - Significant

Notes

I didn’t see any reports from the east end of this trail. This report is mainly for what roads not to take. It was an adventure finding a route, since the way Gaia has them labeled they all look drivable, though some are FAR from even mountain-bikeable muddy snowmobile trails, which I had to get off and push. I did see one dirt biker and a parked dump truck not far from the trailhead, so there should be a way in somehow. Lewis Pond is a beautiful, clean and sandy pond but too shallow and warm to cool me down. The spot marked as an overlook up the road didn’t seem to exist, but there is a great lookout at the trailhead. No views at the top, so enjoy this one. The cabin was in ok shape, sad that the tower is no longer standing.

Parking

I parked off 105 and rode my bike the 13 miles in. Many of these roads are gated. Lewis Pond road was posted no trespassing. McConnell Pond road is gated but open for walking. It didn’t say no biking, however i had to walk my bike on some sections of mud. Henshaw road is not posted but has a bridge out, I took it on the way out. I believe Stone Dam road might get you there in a car but I didn’t feel like driving any more and wanted to bike.

Water Crossings

Two bridges are out on the roads. I saw a jeep turn around at one of them. The water is not deep and I hopped across carrying my bike. I saw one dirt bike and a dump truck out near the trailhead so there must be a different road that is passable.
