Notes
Main reason for writing this is the note about the landowner contact in the parking/access section. We started off just south of west into the woods, crossing the split drainage, which took some creativity. Up to the powerlines, hitting them at the southern tip of the U formed by the access road running through the power lines. Cross the power lines initially encountering some thicker stuff before we found some old logging roads making nice switchbacks up the steep terrain. Followed the road until it started descending to the north and whacked to the summit from there. Junctioned with a hiking trail on the ridge, quite close to the blazed summit / jar. Followed our same tracks out, taking care to avoid some posted/blazed land to the east of the power lines and just north of our ascent line. 1:10 round trip.
Parking
We scouted both Brock Ln and Giovanna Rd - while both had some places one could pull off the road and enter the woods w/o posted signs, none of it felt great, particularly with the soft spring shoulders. The best parking spot on Brock Ln had some posted signs on the east side of the road. So we opted to follow Carl's route, from a tiny bit north of due east of the peak from N Groton Rd. Parked road-side around 1200ft contour, on the west side of the road with just enough space to clear the pavement. In the jar at the summit, I found a business card for Dave, the Brock Lane (and summit) landowner. If I were doing this peak again I would contact him ahead of time to ask about Brock Lane access/parking. I didn't meet him, but other reports mention him being super friendly. While I'm not going to publicly post his contact info, feel free to email or facebook message me if you want it.
