Notes

Totally dry. No snow left. Another smaller mountain I’ve never hiked, and the ledges at the top are super cool!

Parking

Zealand Road is still closed. Parked at Lower Ammo Falls.

Wildlife

Sadly, I must report that I did see a couple. Hell is thawing. They didn’t bother me though….yet

Trail Conditions

Notes

Bareboot whole hike on wet trails with a few muddy spots. Slushy ice on final approaches to Middle Sugarloaf. Avoidable, soft, and quickly melting. Ladder clear of ice, just wet. North Sugarloaf had no ice on trail. My spikes took a free ride today. Ferns have started growing.

Parking

Zealand Road closed. Park across route 302 to the east at Winter Parking lot (free). Walk about a mile up road to trailhead.

Water Crossings

No issues. Easily passable streams.

Wildlife

Saw 3 or 4 flying bug things. They must be scouts.
