Trails Used

MT Langdon Trail, MT Parker Trail

Trail Conditions

Dry TrailMud - Minor/Avoidable

Notes

A pleasant hike on mostly root and rock free trails. There were wet leaves and mud down low, but easy to navigate around. Even with the afternoon rain, the conditions didn't worsen. No trace of snow or ice on the trails. I wore my trail runners for the first time this season and had no issues.

Parking

There's space in the parking area for 3 cars. I parked beside the road.

Water Crossings

Easy to rock hop.

Wildlife

Saw a few black flies, but no biting.

Bemis Bridge crosses Saco River at start of Davis Path

Wildlife

Spruce Grouse observed on Crawford spur trail, bear tree encountered on ridge, well-used bear tree noted

Trails Used

Mt. Langdon trail and Mt. Parker trail

Trail Conditions

Dry TrailWet TrailMud - Minor/Avoidable

Notes

Had sun all the way up with light winds. At the summit lookout as soon as I walked out got hit with 30 to 40 mph gusts for a few minutes then it calmed down to almost no wind. Fantastic views of Crawford, Stairs and Resolution. Mt. Washington was gorgeous.

Parking

Parked at the Mt. Langdon trail head on Cobb Farm road.

Water Crossings

All water crossings easily accomplished.

Wildlife

They are starting to come out. Got buzzed by only one dive bombing midgie about half way up to the summit.

Aside from about a 10’ stretch of very depleted—it’s about 2” thick at the deepest point—stretch of monorail at about 2,600’, there is no snow or ice remaining here as of this morning. Nothing on the trail, nothing in the trees. Great alternative to the unstable monorails on the four thousand footers!
