Trails Used

Unnamed trails, Mt. Prospect Trail

Trail Conditions

Dry TrailWet TrailWet/Slippery RockMud - Minor/Avoidable

Notes

Avoided the lower half of the Mt. Prospect Trail to give it more time to thaw/dry out (the mud pit is about as bad as it gets and avoiding it will do more damage). Certain local trails are snow free and fairly dry at this point. Partly sunny afternoon with some clouds and humidity and temperatures in the 60s.

Parking

Limit 6 vehicles per landowner. Have a backup hike.

Water Crossings

None of significance via certain routes.

Trails Used

Unnamed trails, Mt. Prospect Trail

Trail Conditions

Wet TrailWet/Slippery RockMud - Minor/AvoidableMud - Significant

Notes

Mt. Prospect Trail needs some more dry weather; probably best for the trail if you avoid it for awhile longer. The mudpit halfway up is about as bad as it gets, with wall-to-wall boot sucking mud. There are a few patches of ice remaining, but not enough to justify traction. Dreary afternoon with temperatures around 70 and light rain (before the heavier rain arrived later).

Parking

Limit 6 vehicles per landowner. Have a backup hike.

Water Crossings

Rock hoppable
