Trails Used

Baldface Circle to Emerald Pool intersection. Left st intersection and took Bicknell up to ridge. Over to Eagle Crag and back to Baldface Circle Trail to North and South Baldface. Down to Baldface Nob and down Slippery Brook trail to complete loop

Trail Conditions

Notes

Was in the upper 40's at start, but quickly got into the high 60's and low 70's with lots of sun above the treeline. Suggest a hat for the ridgeline and bring extra water as there are a lot of dry water crossings after a 1-2 miles in. Lots of elevation up to and back down each peak. Great views the whole day.

Parking

Plenty of parking 7:30am. Lot mostly empty at 8pm upon return.

Water Crossings

All water crossings were either dry or easily rock hop-able. Could gather water about 1-2m in and the last 2 mile on Slippery Brook/Baldface Circle Trail.

I went clockwise - the ledges up South Baldface were excellent. Beautiful day, but hot during the ascents. Emerald Pool at the end was super refreshing.

There was plenty of room in the lot on 113

All easily rock hopped

Present all day, somewhat bothersome at time, but I forgot my bugspray, so that's on me

BCT was very challenging the day after huge rain. I counted on the wind acting as a big blow dryer on the slabs and was right for the most part. Where I wasn't, I had to go up or down like a snail. Wet rocks out of the sun were mossy and slick. That was most of the descent. Be comfortable with wet and muddy feet on this one. Kestrel got some gusts in the low 30s above treeline.

Free and bathrooms but don't count on TP

Water Crossings

The one at the end looked dicey so I bushwhacked down just a bit and waded across

Wildlife

None. Wind blew them away.

Notes

Met 4 hikers and one dog on the trail. Went up the ledges above Baldface shelter, nice and dry and a good challenge. This trail got me some exercise to help me with getting over my unease with heights.

No issues plenty of parking

Water Crossings

All water crossing were achievable.

Wildlife

Lots of mosquitos and black flies. Due to the wind they weren't much of an issue.
