Trails Used

Atwell Hill Trail (AT), Ore Hill Trail (AT), Wachipauka Pond Trail (AT), Town Line Trail (AT), Long Pond Rd

Trail Conditions

Dry TrailMud - Minor/Avoidable

Notes

Took a run from 25A to Long Pond Rd on the AT. We had planned to also go up blueberry, but did not due to time constraints. Trail conditions were good. These trails have some perpetually wet areas that do dry up a bit later in the season, but everything was navigable without going off trail including shallow puddles that you can walk right through the middle of, and sections with stepping stones and other trail features to manage the water. The waterfall on Town Line Trail was flowing well. See water crossing notes regarding Oliverian Brook. Trillium, spring beauties, and trout lillies were plentiful.

Parking

Lots of room on 25A, 25C, and 25 for cars. Long Pond Rd remains gated, but there is room for parking outside the gate and along High St.

Water Crossings

The crossing of Oliverian Brook on Town Line just off 25 was high, but not moving especially fast. You could cross easily by getting your feet a little wet. We went a bit upstream and rock hopped over staying mostly dry.The "road" bypass noted on Gaia is actually a private driveway and is posted very clearly against trespassing. No other crossing issues.

Wildlife

No bugs this chilly morning.
