I am adding a trail report to alert flower lovers that the trilliums and trout lilies are set for a major bloom, probably on the next warm day. The plants look developed and healthy and ready to show off. This is most prevalent in the middle part of the route (not so much at the summit top). It was my first time up there and I was worried it might be too hard, too steep, too icy. But it was a reasonable stair climber type hike. First mile or so is muddy and wet but passable down the center of the trail most of the time. Second mile is a steady ramp (reminded me of Tecumseh) but not all that rocky so easier than Liberty or Cannon. Very last part near the top got steep sort of like Tremont but no ice, only patchy snow on top of pine needles. I wore microspikes up there to feel safe but I'd guess many people would not bother. It was raining with a cold, harsh wind; so I did not continue to Martha's Mile. Still got views of the Presidential Range. Nice birds on the way up but they all took cover during my rainy descent.

Parking

Medium lot. Free. Right off Route 115.

Water Crossings

All water crossing and/or walking on the water logged trail was possible on rocks or shallow mud.

Wildlife

A few black flies at lower elevation. They buzzed me but did not seem to know enough to bite into me.
