Trail Conditions
Notes
This looked much shorter than the Smith Pond approach, so decided to give it a shot and really this should be the standard approach for this peak. From parking, followed the extension up, navigating some ice left from snomos, then some nasty mud just before the landing. At the landing, we followed some tracks up the first offshoot to the right, and followed this for a bit before seeing some pink flagging across the stream and we crossed the stream looking to find the flagging and a much better defined trail. We followed this nice trail for a bit then it intersected some ATV/Snomo trails, at which point we took the right-most trail, leading us to a junction with legit road signs - the stuff we find in the woods :). We took Kings Rd, because everything in this area is named "Kings" and then followed it upwards. It followed just outside the blazed WMA border as mapped, almost to the corner at 1850, NW of the peak. Easy, albeit snowy whack from here to the summit with a jar. Followed similar path down, but stuck to the path on the east side of the brook until it hit the road, just SE of the logging landing. 60 mins up, 40 mins down - way easier than 6+ miles from Smith Pond.
Parking
Parked at the drivable end of Goodhue Rd. Not a lot of space with some snow remaining. Tricky turning around without using the last house's gravel.
Water Crossings
brook crossing was easy. There's a bridge going up goodhue.
