Notes

At col there is a fisherman's path leading directly to Stub Hill Pond. Found 3 memorial gravestones. Returned back on the path a short ways (0.6 miles from the col) and followed herd paths through open woods, ferns, hobblebush to the summit. PVC canister. Returned to col the same route, then headed into opposite side to North Stub. A steeper ascent and tight in some spots toward summit. PVC canister. Returned on an line slightly east of our ascent and emerged just opposite a logging road, approximately 0.2 mile downhill from our car. 2.4 miles, 750 ft elevation gain. Total trip time including breaks was 2.5 hours.

Parking

Magalloway Rd, Smith Brook Rd, Stub Hill Rd all in good condition. We had a AWD higher clearance vehicle. A lower clearance vehicle could probably make it with care. Parked at col between Stub & N Stub

Notes

The well worn path Carl took down from Stub Hill can be found by ducking into the woods just behind the "Leaving Connecticut Lakes Natural Area" sign that is just South West of the HOL.

Parking

This post is an update to Carl G's June 12, 2025 post. The Snub Hill Rd gate is open. My mid clearance vehicle work well for the roads. For the Snubs I recommend parking at the hight of land between the peaks.
