Notes
Great hiking the loop as always. Snow/ice completely gone. Coming down Dickey in the woods was a bit slippery with the dry leaves so caution is advised. Past two groups on the way to the first lookout. Saw no one after that.
Parking
About 15 cars there at 6PM. They must have been ahead of me.
Water Crossings
No issues.

Beautiful day for a hike. Some slick areas present. Hiker used microspikes out of caution after warnings from other hikers about treacherous/sketchy conditions, though conditions were not as severe as warned.

Notes
It was cold last night so I assumed there would be ice on the slabs. I started at 11AM and by the time I was up top most had melted on the Welch side. But, coming down Dickey there were some slick areas in the shade. Had to be real careful as it was difficult to tell if the slabs were just wet or actually ice coated. One hiker was wearing microspikes which was probably the best way to go in that section. Other than that it as a gorgeous day for a hike with the sun keeping me warm despite the 40' temps. Hardly any wind. Welch ascent below treeline is a bit wet and muddy. Snow in between the peaks, but nothing significant as seen in the pics.
Parking
15 cars or so.
Water Crossings
No issues.

Trail Conditions
Notes
It was a great morning for this hike despite a chilly start and a little spring snow. Most of the trail was wet but not especially slippery. As the elevation increased, there were occasional patches of black ice, especially between Welch and Dickey and in the col, though they were mostly easy to avoid. Some of the slabs were characteristically slick in these conditions, but overall the hike felt straightforward and conditions were good. Microspikes came along for the ride but ended up not being necessary.
Parking
Plenty of spots in the lot when we arrived at 8:30. About 10 cars when we left at 12:30
Water Crossings
Normal water crossings - easy

Trail Conditions
Notes
The conditions were about as perfect as they could be. No snow or ice anywhere to be found. There were parts of the slabs that were wet, but nothing difficult. Views were good all day, but clouds rolled in as did the temps decrease. The lower part going counter clockwise was muddy but not terrible. Manageable. There were parts as well that had standing water on the trail, but not bad. No spikes or anything needed.
Water Crossings
Water crossing was a tad sketchy but we all made it without getting wet

A great go to on a day I want a quick workout. I heard there was no snow here so I went and can confirm there’s zero snow or ice on this whole loop. Ledges were mostly dry . The getting and good now before the bugs and the crowds.
Parking
Fee lot had plenty of parking today .
Water Crossings
Easy to step on rocks today
Wildlife
None today

Welch Dickey is 99.9% free of ice! Just a little bit of an old monorail left as you pass through the top of Dickey (as seen in 4th pic). Been waiting for this for a while glad it’s come to fruition! Also ran into WMNF guys replacing the little bridge .5 miles in or so. That will be nice. Some slabs were wet from the rain/melt but my Ultra’s had no issue walking right up them.
Water Crossings
Immediate crossing was not an issue.
Wildlife
Just a couple sets of off leash hounds under voice command. A pleasure to see!

Helicopter landings observed on ridge of Dickey. Two helicopters landed and took off. Views were good. Slushy snow on top of ice encountered in shaded wooded areas during descent from Welch toward Dickey.
