Loop was mostly dry, even after Tuesday's rain. Leaves are still mostly on the trees, but there are some areas of the trail with growing leaf cover. Foliage was decent, but not as good as some other places in the region. Beautiful fall afternoon with blue skies and temperatures in the 50s.

Trails were fairly dry this afternoon, but some of the rocks/ledges were wet from the humidity. Still a columbine or two in bloom. Unfortunately someone pulled up rocks on the Ridge Trail again. This is destructive, in that it accelerates erosion. If you see someone doing this, please say something. Partly sunny afternoon with hazy and humidity and temperatures in the 80s.

Lower trail was fairly muddy with some areas of running water. A few mud patches up high. Otherwise, fairly dry. Fancy new interpretive signs installed every tenth of a mile. Wild columbine in bloom up top. Sunny, summer-like day with temperatures climbing into the 70s.

This is a fun, little-used loop. Up rugged Ramsey Trail to West Rattlesnake; Ridge Trail to East Rattlesnake; then down East Rattlesnake Trail. Great views of the lakes from both summits, but East Rattlesnake has the best view of Red Hill. All three trails are in good shape. I saw Hepatica and Early Saxifrage on Ramsey Trail. Other wildflowers will be popping up soon.

Parked in the small lot on Pinehurst Rd. There's room for 4 to 5 cars.

SLA opened the trails today. Trail was dry with areas of mud. Several larger mud pits in the flats that co er the whole trail. Super views this evening from the ledge viewpoint. Sunny sky with no wind and temps in the 60s.
