Notes
The forecast called for 11 inches of snow at the summit overnight.... the snow started to accumulate around 4000 feet, above the Carter Notch Hut en route to the Dome, snow got thicker closer to the summit, probably six inches, maybe 8 in drifted areas. Winter wonderland was back. I was the first to "break trail" over the Dome today, crossed paths with a couple of hikers headed up on may way down. I had put snowshoes back in my but left them there, had spikes and did not use either one. Snowshoes may have had some function about 1/3 mile on either side of the summit but too bony underneath otherwise. I just bare booted and wore some tall gaiters. LOTS of running water as you might expect along 19 Mile Brook, accompanied by slippery rock but no ice. Snow/ice chunks falling from the trees later in the day. Fun to play [and fall] in the snow again.
Water Crossings
Crossable despite the amount of water flow
